Beschrijving : De Militaire Hospitalen I en II te Batavia zijn samengevoegd tot het Leger Hospitaal Batavia en ondergebracht in twee tegenover elkaar liggende complexen aan de Hospitaalweg. De gebouwen van het voormalige Subsistenten-Kader werden daartoe door de Genie verbouwd en vrijdag 22 april officieel in gebruik genomen in tegenwoordigheid van de Legercommandant, Luitenant-Generaal S.H. Spoor, de Secretaris van Staat, Hoofd van het Departement van Gezondheid, Dr. Karamoi en zeer vele andere militaire- en civiele autoriteiten. Op "Het eiland", het rehabilitatie-centrum van het Leger-Hospitaal, konden de bezoekers zich overtuigen van de gunstige resultaten die hier met de toegepaste arbeidstherapie worden bereikt
