Summary[edit]

Description

c/n 98001. This is the first prototype Mosquito, and must surely be one of the most important historic airframes in the UK. It first flew on 25th November 1940 and over it’s career with de Havilland it was much modified as a test aircraft. It also carried the British B-Class identity ‘EO234’. Retired in 1947, it was nearly scrapped before thankfully being rescued. After being stored in various places it moved to Salisbury Hall and has been on display there since 1959. For the past few years it has been undergoing a major restoration and is seen here not long after the fuselage and wing were re-assembled in the Main Hangar. Behind it, to the left, is Mosquito B.35 'TA634'. de Havilland Aircraft Museum, Salisbury Hall, London Colney, UK.
