Español: Escena en la que un desnudo femenino de cuerpo entero ocupa el centro de la composición. A la derecha del espectador, en un segundo plano, una joven vestida y en ultimo plano, a la izquierda, asoma un busto masculino entre la oscuridad del fondo. La obra también se denomina "Florinda y don Rodrigo" o "Don Rodrigo y la Cava", y cuenta la historia de cómo el rey visigodo Don Rodrigo se olvidó de sí mismo, de su país y de su religión al ver a La Cava, desde su ventana, bañándose. Hay varias teorías sobre el origen de la leyenda que bien pudiera ser árabe o castellana. En la obra se impone la corrección formal y un meticuloso estudio de las luces, se inscribe en la corriente historicista alejada de las posturas vanguardistas del momento y dominada por la influencia romana de corte clásico. Además, esta obra es una copia del cuadro de Isidoro Lozano conservado en la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando de la ciudad de Madrid.
