Description
British English: Caricature on the front of German First World War-aera anti-British propaganda pamphlet: Das perfide Albion by Albert Geiser. The colour cartoon shows the United Kingdom as "perfidious Albion" – personified with British military kilt, sporran, tunic, and glengarry – wading through a sea of blood to carry off Mercury's caduceus (a symbol of commerce) and a sack marked "£" (pounds sterling) and "ALBION GmbH".
GmbH=Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung, a phrase approximating the British "Ltd" (private limited company) or the American "LLC" (limited liability company).
