Summary[edit]

Description
English: "The Brown Army; The Leader and his staff; 9 and 10 trumpet players" (German: Der braune Heer; Der Führer u. sein Stab; 9 u 10 Fanfaren-bläser)
  • A paper sheet (Ausschneidebogen, Bilderbogen, Aufstellbild, Blatt) featuring drawings of uniformed leaders and members of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP).
  • Color print approximately 20 x 13,5 cm. The sheet can be used to create paper dolls (Papierpuppen) / toy soldiers that, when properly cut and folded, can be set up in a formation. The figures had to be folded along the dotted lines and could then be either glued or simply set up.
    • The uncut paper figures depict paramilitary uniforms of the Nazi Party, Sturmabteilung (SA brownshirts with brown kepi caps and riding breeches), and Schutzstaffel (SS Traditionsanzug with brown shirts and black caps and breeches), all with swastika armbands (Hakenkreuzarmbinden). Four of the figurines seem to be of the party leader Adolf Hitler wearing his simple brown uniform with blouse, necktie, bandolier crossbelt, breeches and high boots, raising his right arm in a Nazi salute. Two of the models are trumpet players with Schwalbennester and swastika banners.
  • Probably published in Germany before or around 1933
  • The illustrator/artist/author of the artworks is unknown.
  • Nazi propaganda aimed at children; NSDAP advertising; Paper dolls/toy soldiers from the 1930s; Cut-out sheet; Picture sheet; Children's toy; Schutzstaffel (SS); Sturmabteilung (SA); Nazi Germany; Third Reich.
