Description
English: Hand-drawn postcard of sports day at the St Clements British PoW camp in Malta, addressed from the German artist Daniel Hiesinger to a British Army Officer, George Salter, at the camp, either as a gift, or possibly for approval by the censor. Hiesinger was a German artist and photographer from Greding, Bavaria, interned during World War One at St.Clement's camp, Fort Verdala, Cospicua, Malta

Front states: "Belustigungs - Wettspiele 11 July 1915" which roughly translates as Goodwill Games

Front and reverse are signed by Hiesinger. Card is addressed to Mr Salter at the Censor's Office.

The Maltese National Archives in Rabat have an album of artwork and other momentos collected by Salter over the course of the war.
