English: Danaë, 19th century pastel by Lucien Lévy-Dhurmer, 59.6 x 87 cm. Part of the auction "19th Century European Art including Orientalist and Spanish Art" [1]; according to the lot essay, it depicts Danaë as a virgin temptress or femme fatale, in ecstasy amidst a shower of drops of gold and over a leopard skin.
