PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks. This vehicle was the personal staff car of Field Marshal Sir Harold Alexander in Both Africa and Italy. Canadian formations in Italy fought under Alexander’s command. His command car, manufactured by Ford of Canada, travelled 290,000 kilometres and underwent field modifications and three engine changes during its career. After the war, Alexander - by this time Lord Alexander of Tunis and Errigal in recognition of his wartime accomplishments - served as Governor General of Canada from 1946 to 1952. |
