Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde 1938 vom Oberpräsidenten der Provinz Hannover verliehen. Es ist abgeleitet vom Wappen der mittelalterlichen Familie Wittorf, die dort ihren Stammsitz hatte. Das Wappen zeigte auf blauem Grund einen breiten Schräglinksbalken mit drei silbernen Fischen.
