Object history

Die Schrägteilung mit den drei Pfählen ist aus dem Wappen des Ortsadelsgeschlechts der Herren von Teysingen übernommen, die im 13. und 14. Jahrhundert nachweisbar sind.

Die Lilie gilt als Attribut des heiligen Johannes des Täufers, des Kirchenpatrons von Teising (Nebenkirche der Pfarrei Burgkirchen am Wald). Als Mariensymbol unterstreicht die Lilie die engen historischen Verbindungen zum Chorherrenstift Altötting, das eine wichtige Rolle als Grundherrschaft im Gemeindegebiet spielte. Die Feldfarben Silber und Blau versinnbildlichen die historische Einbindung der Gemeinde in das wittelsbachische Herzogtum Bayern.
