Deutsch: Das Landschaftsbild von Steffeln wurde bis 1968 bestimmt durch den 600 m hohen "Steffelskopf". Dieser beherrschende Bergkegel ist inzwischen nahezu abgetragen.

Dieses Naturdenkmal, dass das Landschaftsbild von Steffeln prägte, und zu dem den Namen des Ortes trug, ist im Wappen symbolisiert. Kirchen- und Ortspatron von Steffeln ist St. Michael. Das Symbol des Ortspatrons, das Flammenschwert, steht im mittleren Schildteil.

Zur Gemeinde Steffeln gehörte der Ortsteil Auel. Er verehrt als Ortsheiligen Johannes Nepomuk, der als Attribut einen Sternenkranz führt. Darauf sind zwei sechsstrahlige Sterne in das Gemeindewappen übernommen.
