Object history |
Deutsch: Das Wappen verbindet Elemente aus Wappen von verschiedenen Adelsgeschlechtern, die im Mittelalter Herrschaftsrechte im Gemeindegebiet ausübten. Stammham gehörte seit 1180 zur Grafschaft Leonberg und kam um 1319 in den Besitz der Grafen von Hals. Deren Schild, in Blau ein silberner Balken, findet sich in verwechselten Farben im hinteren Feld des Gemeindewappens wieder. Der gegenästige Schrägbalken (silbern im roten Feld, hier jedoch als Gegenzinnenschrägbalken) ist das alte Zeichen der Grafen von Ortenburg, die im 14. Jahrhundert die Vogtei in Stammham ausübten. Die Feldtingierung in Blau und Silber entspricht den bayerischen Landesfarben und erinnert daran, dass Stammham seit 1386 dem wittelsbachischen Herzogtum Bayern unterstand. Das rote Gitter stellt den Rost, das Attribut des heiligen Laurentius, dar und verweist auf den Patron der Pfarrkirche von Stammham. |
