Object history
Deutsch: Der Schlüssel ist Attribut des heiligen Petrus und steht für den Kirchenpatron von Salching. Er kommt auch in den Wappen der Klöster St. Emmeram und Oberalteich vor und stellt auf diese Weise Verbindungen zur frühen Geschichte des Gemeindegebiets her. Das Regensburger Kloster St. Emmeram spielte schon im 9. Jahrhundert eine wichtige Rolle im Raum Salching; das Kloster Oberalteich war bis zur Säkularisation 1803 wichtigster Grundherr. Die zwei blauen Schrägbalken im hinteren Feld entsprechen dem Wappen der adligen Familie der Rainer von Rain, der im Spätmittelalter die Ortschaften Oberpiebing und Kirchmatting unterstanden.
