Deutsch: Die letzte Version des rheinischen Wappens wurde durch das preußische Staatsministerium des Inneren 1927 genehmigt (erstmalig 1881). Das Wappen geht auf einem Beschluss des Provinziallandtags der Rheinprovinz von 1926 zurück. Das ursprüngliche Wappen, der grüne Schild mit dem Schrägwellenbalken (als Symbol des Rheins; "redendes Wappen") ist das 1817 geschaffene Wappen des Großherzogtums Niederrhein. Der grüne Schild auf der Brust des preußischen Adlers, welches ab 1822 für die gesamte Rheinprovinz Gültigkeit erlangte. Offiziell bestätigt wurde dieses Wappen erst 1881. Nach dem Ende der Monarchie wurde das Wappen umgestaltet ist so bis heute das Wappen des Landschaftsverbandes Rheinland.
English: The arms were first granted in 1881 and are last confirmed in 1927. The first arms were a shield vert with a bend wavy Argent on the breast of prusian eagle, designed in 1817, but only granted in 1881. After the end of prussian monarchy the arms were created with the eagle in the chief and the bend wavy. |
