Object history |
Deutsch: Der Würzburger Fürstbischof Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn (1573 bis 1617) verlieh dem Ort 1586 ein Gerichtssiegel mit der Heiligen Margareta und dem Wappenschild der Echter von Mespelbrunn, darin ein Schrägbalken belegt mit drei Ringen. Die Kirche von Prosselsheim war ursprünglich der Heiligen Margareta geweiht. Dieses Patrozinium ist bis 1690 belegt. Am Bartholomäustag 1613 wurde die erneuerte Kirche neu geweiht. Im Laufe des 18. Jahrhundert wechselte das Patrozinium von der Heiligen Margareta zum Heiligen Bartholomäus. Dies kommt durch das Messer, das Attribut des Heiligen, zum Ausdruck. Die Farben Silber und Rot weisen auf die Zugehörigkeit zum Hochstift Würzburg hin, das um 1303 in Prosselsheim belegt ist. Sie sind zugleich die Farben Frankens. |
