Object history
Deutsch: Die Birke ist sprechendes Bild für den Ortsnamen und wurde schon vom Adelsgeschlecht der Pirker von Pirk im Wappen geführt, die im 15. und 16. Jahrhundert das leuchtenbergische Landsassengut Pirk innehatten. Der silberne Schild mit blauem Balken verweist auf die historische Zugehörigkeit des Pfarrdorfes Pirk zur Landgrafschaft Leuchtenberg seit 1349/52 (nicht zu verwechseln mit Pirk im Landkreis Tirschenreuth, dass schon 1225 als Leuchtenberger Besitz belegt ist).
