Deutsch: Die Herzöge von Teck gründeten neben der älteren Siedlung Oberndorf um 1250 die Stadt. Das erste, in einem Abdruck von 1281 überlieferte Stadtsiegel zeigt zwei Haken, wohl aus dem Wappen der Hack von Oberndorf. Der Doppelhaken ist das Ortszeichen der Stadt und wurde bis ins 17. Jahrhundert, unter anderem auf Marksteinen angebracht. Der Rautenschild, das Wappen der Herzöge von Teck, erscheint in dem seit 1337 nachweisbaren Stadtsiegel und bildet fortan das Wappen der Stadt ungeachtet aller Wechsel der Herrschaft. Erst 1935 wurde der Doppelhaken im Schildhaupt dem Wappen hinzugefügt. Infolge der Vereinigung der Stadt mit sechs Nachbargemeinden am 1. Januar 1975 musste das Wappen erneut festgelegt werden. Es wurde zusammen mit der Flagge am 10. April 1979 vom Landratsamt Rottweil neu verliehen. |
