Object history
Deutsch: Das von Gustav Völker entworfene und vom preußischen Staatsminsterium am 8 . August 1931 genehmigte Wappen gehört zu den ältesten deutschen Landkreiswappen. Der Adler steht für die Kreisstadt Goslar und der Löwe entstammt dem Wappen der Grafen von Schladen, die zwischen 1160 und 1362 über große Teile des heutigen Kreisgebietes herrschten. Die Feldfarben Gold und Rot ergeben sich von selbst aus den historischen Wappen.
