Deutsch: Wappen der früheren Gemeinde Hochdahl seit 1975 Stadtteil von Erkrath: „In Silber (Weiß) über einem grünen Tal ein rotes Mühlrad.“
Das 1939 vom Oberpräsidenten der Rheinprovinz genehmigte Wappen des Heraldikers Wolfgang Pagenstecher zeigt das zu Hochdahl gehörende Neandertal sowie ein Mühlrad welches an Millrath, ältester Ortsteil Hochdahls und Sitz der früheren Amtsverwaltung, erinnert. English: „Argent, above a valley vert a water wheel gules.“
The arms were granted and devised in 1939. The arms symbolise the famous Neandertal. The water wheel stands for the oldest village in the municipality Millrath. |
