Object history
Deutsch: Der Ort gehörte zur Herrschaft Hohenkarpfen, die von der Mitte des 11. bis zur Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts in der Hand der Herren von Karpfen war und 1444 von Württemberg erworben wurde. Auf einem Testament von 1770 findet sich ein Siegel, das in einem Wappenschild einen mit einer Hirschstange belegten Balken zeigt, darunter einen nach links schwimmenden Karpfen. Der Fisch ist dem Wappen der Herren von Karpfen, die Hirschstange entweder dessen Helmzier oder dem württembergischen Wappen entnommen. Das Gemeindewappen in seiner heutigen Form entspricht der Helmzier derer von Karpfen. Es wurde als Siegelbild in den dreißiger Jahren dieses Jahrhunderts verwendet. Nach Festlegung der Farben wurden Wappen und Flagge vom Innenministerium am 17. Oktober 1963 verliehen.
