Description
Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Greven rechts der Ems, seit 1952 Stadtteil von Greven: „Gespalten durch einen Wellenschnitt in Silber (Weiß) und Blau, vorn ein roter Sparren.“ Der Sparren weist auf das Wappen der im Spätmittelalter ausgestorbenen Adelsfamilie von Bönstrup hin, die nach der mittelalterlichen Bauerschaft Bunestorpe bzw. Bunistharpa benannt war. Da die Farben des Adelswappen unbekannt waren, wurden die Farben des "Amtswappens" übernommen.
English: „Party per pale wavy shield Argent and azure, ahead a chevron gules.“ The arms were granted on January 24, 1939. The chevron is taken from the medieval von Bönstrup family, which originated from the municipality, but became extinct in the 15th century. The blue left half and the division line refer to the Ems river. As no colours were known for the family arms, the colours of Amt Greven were chosen.
