Deutsch: Das Wappen dokumentiert durch die schwarzen Schmiedehämmer die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung durch den Eisenerzbergbau und die Eisenerzverarbeitung. Das silberne Edelweiß im unteren grünen Feld weist auf die Lage der Gemeinde in den Bayerischen bzw. Chiemgauer Alpen und ihre Bedeutung für den Fremdenverkehr hin. Die Fahne wurde aus den dominierenden Farben des Wappens abgeleitet, wobei silber durch weiß ersetzt wurde.
