Object history Der vordere Schildteil verweist durch die Gebäudeteile symbolisierenden schwarzen Arkaden auf die reichhaltige sakrale und profane architektonische Ausstattung des Bades in römischer Zeit (Tempel, Thermengebäude) und im Mittelalter (alte Kapelle an der Stelle der heutigen katholischen Kirche, bei deren Bau Spolien aus dem antiken Thermengebäude verwendet worden waren); der Bau wurde 1868 durch die Berliner Baudeputation mit Anregungen Friedrich Wilhelms IV. ausgeführt. Der silberne Falke im hinteren Schildteil erinnert an den Berg „Falkenlay“ in der Gemarkung von Kennfus und integriert somit auch diesen Ortsteil in das Wappen.
