Description
English: The arms were officially granted in 1928. „The arms show St. John Baptist, patron saint of Anrath. The small shield shows the arms of the State of Köln, to which the area historically belonged."
Deutsch: „In Blau über goldenem (gelbem) Schildfuß der hl. Johannes Baptist, die Farbe des Kleides (gold) gelb, die Täuferfahne mit rotem Kreuz auf silbernem (weißem) Grund, der Glorienschein beim Heiligen und Lamm Gottes ebenfalls gold (gelb), bei letzterem mit einem roten Kreuz versehen; rechts neben der Figur ein kleiner Schild, das kurkölnische Wappen, ein schwarzes durchgehendes Kreuz auf silbernem (weißem) Grund.“ Das Wappen stammt von einem Siegel aus dem 16. Jahrhundert. Es wurde 1927 von dem Düsseldorfer Kunstmaler und Heraldiker Wolfgang Pagenstecher gestaltet und 1928 offiziell vom Oberpräsidenten der Rheinprovinz genehmigt.
