Deutsch: Entwurf eines Wappens für die ehemalige Gemeinde Angelmodde, seit 1975 Stadtteil von Münster (Westfalen): „In Grün ein silberner (weißer) Wellengöpel, belegt mit einem goldenen (gelben) Herzschild, darin drei balkenweise gestellte rote Merletten.“
Das Wappen basiert auf dem der 1435 ausgestorbenen Adelsfamilie Angelmodde, welche die drei Merletten im Wappen zeigte. Der Wellengöpel ist "redend" und bezieht sich auf die Lage des Ortes an der Mündung der Angel in die Werse. Die Farben des Herzschildes sind die des Hochstiftes Münster. Das Grün steht für die Natur und die Landwirtschaft.
English: „Vert, a pall reversed wavy Argent, thereupon an escutcheon Or with three barry martlets.“
The arms are canting (Angelmodde - Angelmündung; that means water mouth of the Angel river into the Werse river). The escutcheon based on the arms of the 1435 exincted Lords of Angelmodde, who showed three martlets in their arms. The colours are derived from the Münster diocese. The green colour symbolises the nature and the agriculture |
