Description
Français : Le tronc du "Cyprès de la Sultane", (Cupressus sempervirens ?) dans le "jardin de la Sultane", au Generalife. Selon la légende romantique (et la plaque apposée), cet arbre a été témoin au XVème siècle des amours d'un chevalier Abencérage, et de la Sultane, épouse de Boabdil, le dernier roi maure. Ces amours adultères auraient entraîné le massacre par le roi de la tribu des Abencérages. Grenade, Espagne.
English: The trunk of the "Sultana's Cypres", (Cupressus sempervirens ?) in the "Garden of the Sultana", in Generalife. According to the romantic legend (and the plaque), this tree was the witness -in the 15th-century- of the love story between an Abencerrage knight and the Sultana, wife of Boabdil, the last moorish king. After discovering that, the king ordered the massacre of the whole Abencerrage tribe. Granada, Spain.
