Summary[edit]
DescriptionCunningham C2-R no 5103, rear right (Greenwich 2018).jpg |
English: One of the four built Cunningham C2-R, displayed at the 2018 Greenwich Concours d'Elegance. Three went to Le Mans in 1951, with this car running third until the 18th hour when it developed engine troubles, with John Fitch and Phil Walters driving. It was classified 18th. 220hp, 331ci Chrysler Hemi V8 engine. The other two C2-Rs had accidents earlier in the race. A spare car (5105) was built too, but not raced. All of the cars were later sold on to private individuals. 33 of the 35 Cunninghams built were gathered for the 2018 Greenwich Concours d'Elegance. Some said that this is all the remaining ones, while others told me that one car was missing. Never mind, it was a more than impressive gathering. |
