Cultural Heritage Repair of old inherited typical Norwegian outdoor jacket for skiing

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The crux of cultural heritage - inherited culture in object, learning and activity! This image was shot as I was heading out for a skiing-trip during Easter, a typical activity for us Norwegians in the Easter vacation. As I was putting on my old traditional skiingjacket, inherited from my parents, I saw it was urgently in need of some repairs. As I taught by my grandmother Martha Ottesen on her old handpowered sewing machine, using what fabric was at hand, I strengthened the fabric and repaired a tear. I managed to get out skiing in the sun wearing it -as my family has enjoyed skiing in it before me. Suming up the heritage of traditional skiing activity, celebration of Easter and the passing on of skills, traditional clothing and joy!
