Cristal diatomique cubique à faces centrées (type NaCl, PbS, FeO). Groupe d'espace : Fm3m (225), notation Strukturbericht : B1.

Contrairement aux apparence, ce n'est pas une structure cubique simple, mais une cubique à faces centrées avec un motif diatomique à chaque nœud. Elle peut aussi être décrite comme deux sous-réseaux monoatomiques cubiques à faces centrées décalés d'une demie arête.

Diatomic face centered cubic cubic crystal (e.g. NaCl, PbS, FeO). Space group: Fm3m (225), Strukturbericht notation: B1.

It is not, as one may first think, a simple cubic structure, but a face centered cubic one with a two-atoms motto at each node. It can also be described as two monoatomic fcc sub-lattices shifted by half the side.
