The micrograph show numerous eosinophils. This suggest an infectious cause and/or inflammatory cause. The findings in this image (alone) are not diagnostic for Crohn's disease. Crypt branching is a sign of a chronic crypt destructive process. Causes of chronic crypt destruction that lead to crypt branching include:
