Summary

[edit]
Description

Captain John W. Cruett, 1840 -1919, was a bodyguard to President Lincoln and a member of the posse that ran down John Wilkes Booth. After the Civil War his bakery in Baltimore was the first to use steam boilers for its baking equipment. -- Find A Grave. Com

Not sure why Cruett called it "New York Bread" or why he said his steam bakery's products were "home made."
