Summary[edit]

Description
English: United Sunday Schools' Treat in 1921, in Crowland, Lincolnshire, England. Processions were common in English villages the day after a particular Sunday church service, and were red letter days in the Methodist calendar. Children and adults generally marched separately, singing hymns, accompanied by bands, banners and tableau, this ending at a location, often a local farm or significant business, where the children would sit for a special tea. The aim was to collect donations to support the work of local Methodism.
