Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Built in 1967 as a Modern library building known as the Grace Doherty Library, this building replaced Centre College’s Old Main building, built in 1871. The front wing of the building building was renovated in 2005 to its present Neotraditional-style appearance, mimicking the Old Main building that previously existed on the site. The building’s side and rear facades demonstrate its original appearance with vertical window slits breaking up the red brick facade, a concrete top, and a large hipped roof. The new front facade features a hipped roof, multiple gables clad in EIFS, red brick cladding, limestone and EIFS trim, arched windows, and a large central portico, two stories tall, at the front entrance, featuring four large doric columns. |
