Description

Crossocheilus siamensis

Deutsch: Nahaufnahme einer siamesischen Rüsselbarbe (Geschlecht unbekannt), Größe ca. 6 cm
English: Close-up of a Siamese algae eater (sex unknown). Length circa 6 cm.
Remark It is certainly not Crossocheilus siamensis but an undescribed Crossocheilus species treated as Crossocheilus langei Alfred 1971, which has two pairs of barbels and a dark anal blotch as Crossocheilus langei has, but is larger.
The second pair of barbels, the maxillary one, is hardly visible without magnifying device. No rudiments of maxillary barbels existed in the holotype of Crossocheilus siamensis, and no ones exist in Crossocheilus oblongus.
