Summary[edit]

Description

The 150 brake horse power Crossley Gas Engine (type GE130 No75590) was made by Crossley Brothers Ltd of Manchester and supplied to George Clark's of Penistone Road, Sheffield in 1915. The engine drove a rod and bar rolling mill at Clark's until the early 1970s when it was donated to Kelham Island Museum.

This engine represents the largest single cylinder engine manufactured by Crossley's and is a rare survivor of its type.
