Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Criterion Theater, West Mohawk at Genesee Streets, Buffalo, New York, as seen in 1924. Opened in 1888 and originally known as the Star Theater, it became a major stop on the national theatre circuit before coming under new ownership in 1919, at which time it was renamed the Criterion and presented vaudeville and silent films. The theater was demolished in 1926 to make way for a new location of E.W. Edwards & Son department store. The Buffalo Niagara Convention Center now stands on the site.
