Description
Español: La obra representa a Jesucristo sentado, esperando la muerte en el Gólgota, junto a la cruz vacía y las vestiduras de que le han despojado los sayones. Es el tema iconográfico conocido como Cristo sobre la piedra fría (confundido en ocasiones con el Ecce Homo, en el que Cristo está junto a Pilatos a las puertas del Pretorio), más empleado en la escultura que en la pintura, donde casi resulta excepcional. Éste es uno de los primeros ejemplos conocidos en pintura, lo que demuestra una vez más la originalidad de su autor al traducir los temas sacros.
