| Description |
FOLSOM, Calif. (Feb. 4, 2011) – A look downstream of the American River from atop of the Folsom Dam here Feb. 3. Rep. Doris O. Matsui toured the dam, including the construction site of the new auxiliary spillway, part of the Folsom Dam Joint Federal Project. An unprecedented partnership between the Bureau and the Corps, the JFP will reduce the flood risk for the Sacramento metropolitan area and will include a control structure capable of operating in conjunction with existing spillway gates on Folsom Dam to manage flood flows from Folsom Reservoir. |
