Title |
Copper alloy Heraldic shield pendant of medieval date |
||
Description |
English: A copper alloy heraldic pendant in the shape of a heater shield. The suspension hook has broken off, but the form and size of the object are nonetheless distinctive. The obverse may have originally been gilded or enamelled, but no traces of such finishing now survive, and the tinctures cannot be discerned. Nonetheless, the details of the pendant's heraldic arms are discernible in low relief.
The arms are charged with a chevron, and three unidentifiable geometric devices. The pendant measures 21mm x 17mm x2.6mm, and weighs 5g. |
