Summary[edit]

Description The U.S. Navy Convair XP5Y-1 (BuNo 121455) during its maiden flight from San Diego, California (USA), on 18 April 1950. It was the world's first turboprop flying boat. 121455 was written off on 15 July 1953 when it crashed 10 km off Point Loma, California, ending the P5Y program. All eleven crewmembers onboard bailed out.
