Summary[edit]
DescriptionConiocleonus nigrosuturatus eats common ragweed.JPG |
English: The palearctic ground-weevil Coniocleonus nigrosuturatus feeding on the leaf of common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia). Common ragweed is the most dangerous weed species in Central-Europe, it couses human illness with its highly allergic pollen, and serious problems in the arable lands as arable weed.
In Europe only few species can eat ragweed. This species (Coniocleonus nigrosuturatus) is able to eat the weed in laboratory conditions, and we don't know this species as arable pest. Magyar: Karcsú répabarkó vagy nyíljegyes barkó (Coniocleonus nigrosuturatus) az ürömlevelű parlagfű (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) levélen táplálkozik. A faj egyike azon kevés fajnak, melyek elfogyasztják a parlagfüvet (laboratóriumi körülmények között), mindezt úgy, hogy a fajnak mezőgazdasági kártétele egyáltalán nem ismert.
