| Description |
English: Conifer plantation bordering the old Prince of Wales Quarry tramway This tramway created in 1875 joins the old Gorseddau trackbed of 1857 a little south of this point. The defunct Gorseddau line was relaid from the junction to Porthmadog in 2 foot gauge to match the Prince of Wales line. Previously the Gorseddau had had a 3 ft gauge. Hailed in the prospectus as probably Britain's most profitable railway, it finished up with men pushing individual trucks the whole way to Porthmadog. |
