Description

North Beach, San Francisco, California, North East corner of Broadway and Columbus (1973). Carol Doda's Condor Club, Big Al's, Roaring 20s and Hungry I strip clubs.

Dianne Feinstein was on the Board of Supervisors when San Francisco began enforcing a sign ordinance in early 1973 banning words such as "nude", "bottomless" and "stark naked". The Condor sign said "Carol Doda Complete Nude Sex Show". The offending words were covered when this picture was taken in June 1973; the signs were modified by September as shown in this picture.
