Description
English: Conant-Beyer Generalization for the Pythagorean theorem applied to a 2-D object: The area squared (81) of the 2-dimensional square object shown in blue can be calculated by projecting the object onto each of the coordinate planes in 3-D space, calculating the area of each projection (shown in green), squaring each projected area, then adding them together. Regardless of how the square is oriented in 3-D space, the result remains the same (A2+B2+C2=D2).
