Title
Complete cast copper alloy finger ring of probable Post Medieval date (AD 1500 – AD 1800).
Description
English: Complete cast copper alloy finger ring of probable Post Medieval date (AD 1500 – AD 1800). External diameter 19mm, maximum width of hoop 7mm and about 1.8mm thick. Weight 2.99g.

The bezel area, at the top of the hoop, is in the form of a moulded buckle and strap. The buckle frame is square and the "buckle plate" is pierced with a counter-sunk perforation, the diameter of which is 3.6mm. This depression may have originally contained decorative material. The buckle pin is slender and is raised above the hoop slightly. At either side of the buckle are two small rectangular panels which are intended to emulate a strap or belt. The width of the hoop diminishes from the top towards the bottom. At the top it is 7mm in width and at the bottom it is 3mm in width. Slightly corroded, the metal is a brownish purple colour.
