English: The common green magpie, a member of the crow family, is approximately the size of the Eurasian jay or slightly smaller. In its natural habitat, these birds typically exhibit a vibrant green color, with a slightly lighter shade on the underside, and a distinctive thick black stripe extending from the bill to the nape. This neon-colored, vocal, and highly social avian species thrives in lowland and mid-altitude subtropical forests.

Despite its striking appearance, the common green magpie can be surprisingly elusive as it gracefully moves from tree to tree within the middle and upper levels of the forest. Noteworthy features include a bright green plumage with chestnut-tipped wings, a distinctive black mask, and a coral-red bill, creating a memorable sight for observers. Distinguishing it from the similar Indochinese Green-Magpie, the common green magpie showcases a richer green hue, chestnut-tipped wings, and a unique black-and-white "lattice" of feathers on the rear tip of the wings.

This species is recognized for its vocalizations, emitting a series of piercing shrieks followed by a hollow and decisive-sounding "chup" note, contributing to its distinct presence in its subtropical forest habitat.
