Uluru/kata tjuta - Milestones and Bucket lists

| Description |
English: For my 50th birthday and my youngest daughters 21st birthday i wanted to do something uniquely Australian. Together we went on a 10 day swag trip to uluru. Sleeping in the salt bushes, listening to dingoes in the night sounds, hiking through Australias outback canyons and escarpments, and eating one pot wonders. We slept in our swags around camp fires under the Southern Cross, rising for the amazingly beautiful sunrises. Why? The outback 'life has pleasures that the townsfolk never know' (Banjo Patterson). Clancy of the Overflow is an Australian poem written by Banjo Patterson. My mum would always recite this to me when i was little and and it embedded in me a love of the Australian outback. The swag trip was tough but incredibly Beautiful. Uluru/kata tjuta was our ultimate destination. We arrived at sunset. This photo is me holding my daughters hand heading towards the viewing site at Uluru/kata tjuta. It represents a lifetime of dreaming and imagining, and it didn't disappoint. It was everything i imagined and more. The energy surrounding uluru/kata tjuta is palpable and once visited, understanding of Uluru/kata tjutas mportance to the Aboriginal people is more deeply understood and respected. |
