Description

A half-page (p. 328) from the book "Knox County, Illinois. The honor roll, 1917-1918-1919: Being record of what was done in Knox County in those three eventful years and who did it." Depicts seventeen African American women in white clothing. During the First World War, these women worked at the Red Cross shop in Galesburg, Illinois, cutting and sewing surgical dressings and hospital garments.
