Col. Reuben Allen Steere (Oct. 19, 1838- Mar. 1, 1915) was born in Glocester, Rhode Island. On March 7, 1880, he married Rebecca Ann Turnbull Myers (April 4, 1853-Apr. 4, 1927) who was born in North Bend Township, IN. Reuben and Rebecca were members of the famous Lilliputian Opera Company during the 1880s and 1890s. Upon retiring, the couple had a poultry farm in NY. Reuben also served as a truant officer, and Rebecca ran a restaurant in Chepachet, RI.
