Description

Beschreibung: Ehemaliges Kanzleihaus (Markt 21) in Colditz, Sachsen. Inschrift der Informationstafel am Haus: Hier lebte und arbeitete ab 1602 der Rechtsgelehrte Prof. Dr. Benedict Carpzov (geb. 22. 10. 1565 in Brandenburg, gest. 26. 11. 1624 in Wittenberg) als Kanzler der Kurfürstin Sophie von Sachsen. Sein Sohn August Carpzov (geb. 04. 06. 1612 in Colditz, gest. 19. 11. 1683 in Coburg) vertrat beim Westfälischen Friedensschluss 1648 Sachsen-Altenburg. Beide, Vater und Sohn, sind Vorfahren des heutigen niederländischen Königshauses.
